WHAT WE OFFER
Electrical insulating materials, or in general dielectrics are used in a large variety of applications in many fields of industry. Examples are found in components used in the electrical power industry, such as high-voltage cables, transformers and switchgear. Other application fields are actuators and sensors (electro-active polymers), photo voltaic systems and medical and industrial x-ray.
Training
We provide in-company training for those involved in the design, construction and testing of high voltage components and dielectrics subjected to high electric stress. In a multi-disciplinary approach teams of engineers of different scientific background are trained in an interactive setting. Relevant case studies are used to apply and test the freshly required knowledge.
Consultancy
Many of the design principles of highly stressed dielectrics are fixed, whatever the application. Based on a sound knowledge of how electrical and thermal stress act on a dielectric and on its lifetime the first steps towards a succesful design can be made.
Solid Dielectric Solutions can assist in developing new dielectric applications, from design to type test. We can help in identifying and addressing the challenges of making new dielectric designs. Further, we can assist in the process of determining the proper testing procedures for type tests.
